Message from the Parish Council about The Lion Planning Application

You may be aware that the Lion Inn planning application TWC/ 2021/1220 has been resubmitted.

There is fundamentally no difference that I have yet to read in the submission from Upper Langley Homes, the new owners of the Lion, other than a reduction of 27 homes to 24.

We, as Edgmond Parish Council, have yet to deliberate on this revised submission about the Lion site, however we appreciate your previous views expressed on the Telford & Wrekin Council’s planning portal and those expressed in the zoom meeting which was held about the original application.

Can I please ask those people in the parish in relation to this revised submission to go onto the planning portal again at https://secure.telford.gov.uk/planning/pa-documents-public.aspx?Applicationnumber=TWC/2021/1220  and resubmit their views, yet again – even if they are the same as previously.

Unfortunately, your previous views will not count as effectively against the revised plans because you must reconsider them, then make a comment of support or objection to those revised plans.

In short, if you want to comment on the Lion revised plans you are going to have to submit one again. All that is needed is for your former submission to be amended to reflect you have considered the new submission and your view(s) registered again. The deadline for submissions is the 12th July 2022.

Edgmond Parish Council will be considering this application at the next full council meeting on the 11th July 2022 at 7:15pm, so please submit your views on the portal well in advance of this, to enable your councillors to assimilate your expressed and recorded views.

There will be the usual 15-minute public session at the start of the full council meeting to hear about other local concerns too, of which this item could be one of them.

Please do look at the revised submission and make your views known.

Kind regards for now

Allan Wilson
